Karen was a member of the Great Britain swimming Team for 20 years competing at 4 Olympic Games and winning 4 World Titles, 13 Commonwealth Medals (including 4 Golds) and 38 National Titles. She received an MBE in the 1984 New Years Honours List.

After retiring in 2005 Karen has advocated for athletes by taking on board roles with the EIS, British Athletes Commission, LOCOG, The British Olympic Association and Sport England. She continues to commentate on swimming for the BBC.

Karen qualifies as a mortgage advisor last year and will continue to train as an IFA. She hopes to provide athletes with information and support with their finances and mortgages as they train and compete and into their next careers.

Alan is one of the newer members of our team, a previous client of ours who worked in the professional football industry as a player and coach for over 20 years. Ian has over 30 years experience of working in financial services. Before joining Bexley Independent he worked for lending institutions, including senior management roles.
Outside work he enjoys travelling with friends and family, playing tennis and is also an avid football supporter.
